The day
The Wachau at your own pace
The Wachau lies a good hour west of Vienna: a stretch of the Danube valley between Melk and Krems with terraced vineyards, apricot orchards, castle ruins and abbeys – a UNESCO World Heritage site since 2000. With your own chauffeur you decide the order, the length of each stop and the breaks.
The package covers 8 hours from pickup in Vienna, around 250 kilometres, all tolls and parking. Admission, tastings and meals can be arranged on request and are paid locally. If you wish to stay longer, we extend at the hourly rate.
For families we fit up to 2 child seats; in the Business Van up to 6 people travel together.

This is what a classic day looks like. We are equally happy to drive to a winery of your choice, to the Aggstein castle ruins, to Spitz or to a landing stage for a stretch by boat on the Danube.

Melk Abbey
Baroque Benedictine abbey high above the Danube, with library, abbey church and gardens. Around 75–90 minutes from Vienna.

Dürnstein
The blue church tower, the Kuenringer castle where Richard the Lionheart was held, and lanes for a stroll or lunch with a view of the river.

Krems and Stein
Wine town with an old centre, the Kunstmeile and wine taverns. A glass of Grüner Veltliner to finish before your chauffeur takes you back to Vienna in around 60–75 minutes.

Each additional hour is charged at the hourly rate of the class (€ 95, € 109 or € 139). Individual routes – with a detour to the Kamptal or St. Pölten, for example – are quoted in advance. All prices.

In the morning at your hotel or address in Vienna. Water is waiting, the route is agreed.

Melk, Dürnstein, Krems – or your own selection. The chauffeur waits at every stop for as long as you like.

Back to Vienna in the evening, to your door or hotel. Payment in cash, by card or by invoice.

What does the day-trip price include?
8 hours with chauffeur, around 250 kilometres, tolls, parking, water and card payment. Admission, tastings and meals are not included.
Can I set the route myself?
Yes. Melk, Dürnstein and Krems are a suggestion. Tell us your wishes – wineries, Aggstein, Spitz, a boat trip – and we plan the day around them.
What if the day runs longer than planned?
No problem. Each additional hour is charged at the hourly rate of the class booked, starting at € 95. Your chauffeur will let you know in good time.
Can the trip start at Vienna Airport?
Yes. We meet you with a name sign in the arrivals hall and begin the day straight from the airport. Your luggage stays safely in the car.
Does the chauffeur speak English and know the region?
Our chauffeurs speak German and English and know the Wachau well. They drive and accompany you but do not replace a licensed guide – we can arrange one on request.
