A chauffeur service is a ride you book in advance: you choose the vehicle class, you know the price before the ride, and a chauffeur drives only you. What does a chauffeur do, and what do they not do?
A chauffeur drives you to your destination in a car you booked in advance, and during the ride they are there only for you. With Belvedere Chauffeur in Vienna, this includes:
- Driving: your chauffeur picks you up at the booked time and drives you to your destination, in Vienna and beyond.
- Waiting: at the airport they track your flight and wait for you after landing. On an hourly booking they wait between your appointments.
- Luggage: your chauffeur helps you with your luggage.
What a chauffeur does not do: they take you to sights, but they do not guide you there. In Austria, guiding visitors is a separate trade, that of the tourist guide (Fremdenführer, section 108 of the Trade Act 1994, Gewerbeordnung). Your chauffeur is also not security staff. And we do not hire out cars without a chauffeur.
How does a ride with a chauffeur work?
With Belvedere Chauffeur in Vienna, every ride has five steps, from booking to paying your chauffeur:
- Book: online, by phone, WhatsApp or e-mail. You choose the route, date, time and vehicle class. Online you see the fixed price per car straight away.
- Confirmation: you receive an e-mail with your booking number, pickup time and fixed price.
- Pickup: your chauffeur is at the pickup point on time and contacts you. This is why every booking needs a mobile number with country code.
- Ride: your chauffeur helps with your luggage and drives you to your destination. The car is only for you and your group.
- Payment: you pay your chauffeur after the ride, in cash or by card, in euros. There is no prepayment.
Hourly hire is not booked online: you work out the price with the hourly calculator and send us a request. We confirm the price and the car by e-mail.
How long does a chauffeur wait for you?
With Belvedere Chauffeur, your chauffeur waits at no extra charge: at Vienna International Airport up to 60 minutes after landing, after domestic flights up to 45 minutes. At a hotel or an address it is up to 15 minutes from the agreed pickup time, at a train station up to 20 minutes.

After that, you pay € 25 for every 30 minutes or part of it. Prices incl. VAT, valid since 9 October 2026.

How do I recognise my chauffeur?
With Belvedere Chauffeur in Vienna, your chauffeur wears a suit on every ride. The car has no taxi sign on the roof.
Without Meet & Greet, your chauffeur calls you after landing at Vienna International Airport and tells you where to meet. At a hotel or an address they are at the pickup point on time and call you. Please keep your phone switched on.
With Meet & Greet, your chauffeur waits for you at Vienna International Airport with a name sign, also with your company logo if you like. You add Meet & Greet to your booking; it costs € 12 per ride.

When is a chauffeur worth it?
A chauffeur is worth it when you want to be picked up at a fixed time and know the price in advance. Typical uses of Belvedere Chauffeur in Vienna:
- Arriving at the airport: a fixed price into Vienna and up to 60 minutes of waiting time after landing. More about the Vienna Airport transfer.

How far ahead do I need to book?
You can book airport transfers and one-way rides online with no minimum notice. For a ride in the next few hours, please call us or send a WhatsApp message. Book day trips at least 24 hours ahead.
Is Belvedere Chauffeur the Belvedere museum?
No, we are not connected to the Belvedere museum. The name comes from our trading name “Taxi Belvedere” and from Belvedere Palace. Belvedere Chauffeur is the chauffeur service of GTS Ground Transfer Service GmbH in Vienna (FN 588382v), licensed for passenger transport; supervisory authority: Magistrat der Stadt Wien (MA 63). Is a hire car with driver the same as a chauffeur?
